The Kaiser Family Farm was founded in 1867 by our great-great grandparents Thomas and Mary Kaiser. Thomas and Mary emigrated from Germany. They settled in the Town of Friendship in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. They started a traditional farm with dairy cows, pigs, chickens, and horses. At that time there was no electricity. There were very few roads. Much of their life was subsistence living and clearing land for future generations.
The Kaiser Family Farm continued through our great grandparents Albert and Lucy Kaiser. Rural electricity had arrived for Albert and Lucy. Subsistence living was still very much the focus of daily life. Albert and Lucy were able to improve the farm with the addition of electricity and gasoline powered equipment. Improved roads and better transportation allowed them access to markets that were previously very difficult to reach.
Albert and Lucy passed along ownership of the Kaiser Family Farm to our grandparents Wilferd and Florence Kaiser. Wilferd and Florence erected one of the first Harvestore Silos in the county. At the time the Harvestore Silo patent was still in the application process. Wilferd and Florence went on to add the first self- propelled combine in the area, eventually adding a truck to haul grain and more modern machinery. Wilferd and Florence’s focus was dairy production from a herd of Holstein cows. In 1969 a barn fire destroyed the dairy barn and several out buildings. That day forever changed the course of the Kaiser Family Farm.
Currently the Kaiser Family Farm raises steers for the finished cattle market and also supplies mid weight feeder cattle throughout the Midwest. Our goal is to bring quality farm raised beef directly from our family farm to your family’s table.
